About IPM
IPM was founded in 1958 under the name of Instituut voor Psychologisch Markt- en Motievenonderzoek (Institute for Psychological Market and Motivational Research). Although our roots in the social sciences (e.g. consumer decision behaviour and information processing) have remained strong, we have added our extensive knowledge of and wide experience in marketing. For some clients we have been performing research for almost half a century.
Since its foundation, IPM has conducted research internationally. This has ultimately lead to the introduction of a specialised unit: IPM International. We have our regular research contacts in many countries, varying from other full service agencies to individual specialists. Consequently, we know who to use for what. We regularly conduct research in Europe, North America and Asia.
If your organisation operates on an international or even world-wide scale, it is quite likely that you are looking for the optimum balance between economy of scale increase and local effectiveness. This is where international research comes in: looking for what markets have in common and simultaneously identyfying the differences that you might or might not need to take into account.
